Oh wow … I can relate! If I had a dime for every time I heard, “I know how you feel,” I could retire. I was utterly amazed at some of the really stupid and insensitive comments that people said to me during my battle with cancer. The most outrageous was from my mother-in-law. After I told her that I had to have a mastectomy and no chemo, she said, “Oh it’s too bad you just can’t have chemo instead of the surgery.” HUH???
